On the 13th of November many centuries ago in the Heian Period, Prince Koretaka supposedly perfected lacquer (Urushi), thereby transforming raw Urushi, which was poisonous to the touch, into a work of art that would withstand the ravages of time. Over the years, we have dedicated an entire week of celebrations and unbeatable deals in deference to the legacy of history and art of Urushi.
