The story of JINPU - Dream Ballpoint pen dates back to when Mr. Okagaki was only a child. From his first encounter with the Jinpu-kaku (仁風閣) in Tottori Castle, Japan, he was fascinated by the irresistible shape of the spiral staircases - a distinctive trait of French Renaissance architecture. The more he explore the world, the more he got attracted to the philosophy behind this shape and how it appears as an important part in the almost every aspect of life, such as the double helix structure of human DNA. Driven by this immense inspiration, JINPU ballpoint pen has come to this world. Not only is it a reminiscence of Mr. Okagaki's childhood memory of the Jinpu-kaku staircase, but it is also the result of the years of hardworking to combine Japanese traditional techniques on to a modern writing instrument.

JINPU - Tamamushi: A combination of modern and traditional art

JINPU being very unique in shape can be complemented even more by Urushi Lacquer. We are so glad to bring together two traditional and modern techniques: Echizen lacquering art with a 1500 years of history, and Tamamushi-nuri technique - the modern-times technique developed from the Showa era. As a result, the two arts blending wonderfully, creating a magnificent finish that you can enjoy and appreciate for many years to come.
