About Kasaro

A ballpoint pen made from IKD 抗菌ステンレス or IKD antibacterial stainless steel.

Compared to plastic or normal stainless steel, IKD stainless steel is tested for not having the number of bacterial staying on the surface increased over time.

Bacterial test on IKD stainless steel

Bacterial Test was carried by Nippon Metal Works Co., Ltd as follows:

1ml of the test bacterial solution was applied to the surface of IKD antibacterial stainless steel (16 cm2) and plastic (16 cm2), allowed to stand for 24 hours at 25°C.

Wipe off the sample testing surface (16 cm2) with a tampon, drop off the tampon in 10 ml of diluted solution, Escherichia coli is diluted with 1 ml of the dropout solution in the measuring medium for 24 hours at 37 ℃. And with Staphylococcus aureus, 0.1 ml of the liquid was smeared on the measurement medium and incubated at 37 ° C for 48 hours. The number of colonies generated was then counted and here is the result:
