Primo Fountain Pen
Material Construction
Primo is mainly made from Titanium - one of the most reigning and strongest metals on the planet. Therefore, the durability of your Primo pen is undeniable.
Needless to say, the construction of solid titanium is appealing. However, we have come to know that it makes the pen overweight and in many cases, not comfortable for a long writing section. That's why we added aluminum to the structure of this pen to give it a perfect balance for your writing. With a precise proportion and a delicate combination, after a handful of trials, we reached the best configuration of aesthetics and ergonomics.
The Finish
As you can see, this Titanium pen is finished in a unique style that might be not commonly seen in a metal pen. And this finish is completely different from one pen to another because it is NOT a mass-produced one.
It's a special Titanium color treatment in which a thin oxide film is formed on the titanium surface by the anodizing method. This colorless and transparent film interferes with light making the color become visible. Unlike plating, dyeing, or painting, using this method makes the Titanium on Primo pen not lose its mechanical properties so that it can hold a great weather resistance and texture over a long course of time. Also, with this method, the color tone on your pen will interestingly change depending on the direction of the light exposed to your pen.
In addition to that, the finish is blast-polished in a pattern resembling ocean water texture. It's why the Primo pen has that unique half-matt finish.
The Nib
To complete the pen, we need a great nib that has to only write well but also have a matching look with the pen body. The Primo incorporates a Jowo #6 stainless steel nib which is treated with special techniques resulting in matching variations with the pen's finish colors:
The Colored Nibs: created by a color treatment technology developed in Japan by Ororu. This method delivers a distinctive color that is reflected in various tones under different light conditions. Moreover, this technique prevents color from fading, improves the color unevenness, and significantly reduces the deterioration.
